Ida Burchfield Boykin

Graveside services for Ida Burchfield Boykin, 87, of Greenville will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 8, 2012 at Vickland Cemetery in Delta City, MS.  She went to be with her Heavenly Father on Thursday, December 6, 2012, after a brief illness, at Delta Regional Medical Center.  Arrangements are under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville. She was born November 22, 1925 in Drew, MS to Thomas Delbert and Carrie Mae McDaniel Burchfield.  Ida was a member of Second Baptist Church in Greenville. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Monroe Boykin, Sr., one sister, Bessie Holly Self, and four brothers, DeWitt, Jessie, Robert, and James Burchfield. Ida, “B”, is survived by two daughters, Betty Ann Boykin and Carrie Etta Boykin both of Guntown, MS; a son, William Monroe Boykin, Jr. (Cindy) of Greenville. “B” is also survived by two granddaughters, Meredith Marie Boykin of Madison, MS and Dr. Emily Boykin Saul (Frank) of Upper Arlington, Ohio. Ida is also survived by her great-granddaughter and namesake, Blakely Ida Saul.  She also leaves behind six sisters, Grace Sanders of Columbus, MS, Peggy Coleman of Greenville, MS, Stella Garrison of Greenwood, MS, Alice Landrum of Crossville, TN, Charlene Fox of Minneapolis, MN, and Shirley Sewell of Minter City, MS; and by two brothers, Thomas Burchfield of Columbus, MS and David Burchfield of Covington, LA. Brother Ronnie Spivey of Second Baptist Church will officiate.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
