Funeral Services for Elizabeth Lindsey Cook, age 61, of Leland will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 10 at First Baptist Church, Leland. She died Sunday, August 7th, at Baptist Memorial Hospital East in Memphis, TN. Burial will follow in the Leland-Stoneville Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Leland. Elizabeth was born in Charleston, MS in 1949, and soon moved to Leland where she was a lifelong resident. She graduated from Leland High School in 1967, where she played clarinet in the high school band. Elizabeth worked as a secretary at Mississippi State University’s Delta Research and Extension Center in Stoneville for 35 years and as an administrative assistant a the Delta Health Alliance in Stoneville since 2006. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Leland where she was a proud supporter of Operation Christmas Child. She was preceded in death by her father Morris Lindsey and her mother, Denise Lindsey. Survivors include 2 daughters, Holly Elizabeth Cook Sloan (Bo) of McGrath, AK and Bonnie Cook Wells (Robert) of Gainesville, FL; a son, Charles Oliver Cook, Jr. (Cynthia) of New Orleans, LA; a sister, Elaine Lindsey Cox (Jerry) of Senatobia, MS; a brother, Morris Earl Lindsey (Jo) of Saltillo, MS; and 3 grandchildren, Charles Oliver Cook III, Jane Baldwin Cook, and Aiden York Wells. A visitation will be held one hour before the services at First Baptist Church on Wednesday, August 10.
