Funeral services for Freddie Mae Carpenter, age 80, of Amory, MS and formerly of Indianola will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 19 at Boone-Card Funeral Home. She died Tuesday, August 16 at Gilmore Memorial Regional Medical Center in Amory. Burial will follow in the Indianola City Cemetery. Mrs. Carpenter was born in Sumner, MS. She married Gus H. Carpenter in 1946, and they made their home in Lake Village, AR. In 1965 they moved to Indianola where she was employed with Modern Lines until her retirement. Mrs. Carpenter moved to Amory in 2001 and was a resident of Golden Living Nursing Home. She was a member of the Mount Zion Church of God in Indianola. She was preceded in death by her husband in 2005 and a son, G.H. Carpenter, Jr. in 1954. She is survived by three daughters, Linda Tadlock of Leland, MS, Margaret Eubank of Smithville, MS, and Debbie Gillespie of Amory, MS; three sons, Clifford Carpenter of Greenville, MS, Robert Carpenter of Kimball, TN, and James Carpenter, of Tupelo, MS; and 11 grandchildren & 10 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. , Thursday, August 18 at Boone-Card Funeral Home.
