Funeral services for Edwin Carlton Burns, 83, of Greenville will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 11, 2013 at Boone Funeral Home, Greenville. He died Friday, March 8, 2013 at Mississippi Care Center. Burial will be in Greenville Cemetery under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville. Mr. Burns was born in Tipo, MS and graduated from Dublin High School in 1948. On March 10, 1950 he married Cora Vanlandingham making their home in Greenville. Mr. Burns worked for Texas Gas Company until retiring due to ill health. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by 2 sons, Carlton Dale Burns in 1988 and Henry Curtis Burns in 1992. He is survived by his wife, Cora V. Burns of Greenville and a son, Barry Burns (Helen) of Wayside. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 p.m., Monday, March 11, 2013 at Boone Funeral Home, Greenville.
