Funeral services for Lillian Williams Sandifer, 91, of Hollandale will be at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at Hollandale Baptist Church. She died Monday, February 11, 2013 at Sharkey-Issaquena Community Hospital, Rolling Fork. Burial will be in Hollandale Cemetery under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Leland. Mrs. Sandifer was born on September 26, 1921 in Newport, AR the daughter of Buster and Blanche Williams. In 1951 she married Virgil L. Sandifer, Sr. and they made their home in Hollandale. Mrs. Sandifer was a member of Hollandale Baptist Church and was a member of The Home Demonstration Club. She was also an avid sports fan and was a big supporter/fan of all Deer Creek Schools sports. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 2004, her sister, Hazel Massey and 2 brothers, Neal Williams and J.L. Williams. She is survived by her son, V.L. “Brother” Sandifer, Jr. (Lisa) of Greenville; 3 daughters, Jackie Carpenter of Hollandale, Mickie Sullivan of Concord, NC and Jo Wylie (Mark) of Glen Allan; 2 grandsons, V. L. “Trey” Sandifer, III (Camile) and Chase Wylie; 7 granddaughters, Casey Perry (Shay), Gina Sullivan Fleming, Lindsey Sandifer Sheffield (Jason), LeAnn Stone Chambers (Matthew), Lauren Sandifer Weir (Benjamin), Abigail Joy Sandifer and Paige Sullivan Thompson; and by 9 great grandchildren. The family wishes to express their thanks to the staff and sitters at Sharkey-Issaquena Community Hospital. The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at Hollandale Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Baptist Childrens Village, St. Jude Children’s Research or to a charity of your choice.
