Paul Clifford Love, Sr.

Funeral services for Paul Clifford Love, Sr., 97, will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at Lake Washington First Baptist Church in Glen Allan. He died Saturday, September 10, 2011, at his home in Greenwood surrounded by his family. The burial will follow at Greenfield Cemetery in Glen Allan. All services are under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville. Paul was born in McAdams , MS in Attala County on December 19, 1913 to James Robert Love and Martha Ann Sanders Love. He was one of six children who all preceded him in death. Paul was also preceded in death by his daughter, Mary Elizabeth Love Saad, and a son, Paul Love Jr. He is survived by his wife of seventy years, Elizabeth Smith Love of Greenwood; a son, Kirby Love of Greenwood, and his wife, Carol; two granddaughters, Laura Elizabeth Smith of Clovis, N.M., and her husband, Jeff, and Mary Martha Scrivener of Vaiden and her husband, Don; a grandson, James Robert Love II of Manhattan, KS.; a great granddaughter, Rani Scrivener; and three great grandsons, Joshua and David Smith and Andrew Scrivener. Paul was a member of Lake Washington First Baptist Church , where he had served as a deacon. He owned and operated Love Oil Company in Glen Allan. He also was involved in many community organizations. He was a former member of the Western Line School Board. He served as a Washington County Supervisor for eight years. He served on the Washington County Hospital Board for the General Hospital and for Delta Regional Medical Center . He was a member of The Tennessee Society of the Sons of the American Revolution, Lion’s Club, Rotary Club, Gideon Organization and was a Master Mason of the Deer Creek Lodge and a Shriner. He served in the Army. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lake Washington First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall or The Arms of Mercy( P. O. Box 4691 Greenville , MS , 38701 ). Visitation will be noon – 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 13 at Lake Washington First Baptist Church.
