Linda Fratesi Hitchcock Flanagan

Funeral Mass for Linda Fratesi Hitchcock Flanagan, 83, of Leland will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at St. James Catholic Church, Leland.  She died Monday, June 18, 2012 at Bolivar Medical Center, Cleveland.  Burial will be in Leland-Stoneville Cemetery under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Leland. Mrs. Flanagan was a native of Tribbett, MS moving to Holly Ridge with her parents at an early age.  She graduated from Leland High School in 1947.  She worked for Sears Roebuck and Company for 13 years, General Motors Acceptance Corporation for 13 years and Swain Building Company for 7 years.  She and her first husband Thomas Hitchcock operated Hitchcock’s Dairy Freeze in Leland until his death in 1977 and then she worked for Morson Sterling Oil Company.  She was a communicant of St. James Catholic Church where she was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary and the Church Choir.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles C. Flanagan, a great grandson, Bradley N. Jones and two sisters, Gilda Wilson and Connie Lott. She is survived by 2 daughters, Yvonne H. Jones and Donna H. Crook both of Leland; 2 sons, Ronald Hitchcock of Covington, TN and Thomas Hitchcock, Jr. of Greenville; a sister, Liz McDonell of Greensboro, NC; 3 brothers, Lando Fratesi, Charlie Fratesi and Louis Fratesi all of Leland; 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at St. James Catholic Church, Leland with a rosary at 7:00 p.m.
