Indianola, MS Walter Dodd Dickerson, Jr. Graveside services for Walter Dodd “Dick” Dickerson, age 82, of Indianola were 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 10 at Caile Cemetery. He died Saturday, October 8 at Baptist Hospital in Jackson. Services were under the direction of Boone-Card Funeral Home, Indianola. Mr. Dickerson was born in the community of Sallis and served in the U.S. Marine Corp. He lived most of his adult life in Indianola where he worked for Ludlow Corporation and Supervalu Incorporated. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Christine Dickerson and his parents, Erma and Walter Dickerson. He will be lovingly remembered by his family and friends for his passion for gardening and hunting. Survivors include his wife of 12 years, Mary Brewer Dickerson; two daughters, Sheila Hester (Robert) of Picayune, MS and Lisa Whyte (Frank) of Columbus, Indiana; two sons, Donnie Dickerson (Cathy) of Cleveland, MS and Barry Dickerson (Shirley) of Holcomb, MS; a stepdaughter, Sue Ann Brown of Bolton, MS; a sister, Billie Ruth Brewer of Inverness, MS; and 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
