William W. “Billy” Trotter, Sr.

Greenville, Mississippi Funeral services for William W. “Billy” Trotter, Sr., age 77, of Greenville will be at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 14th at Boone-Wells Funeral Home.  He passed away Monday, December 12, 2011 at Delta Regional Medical Center in Greenville. Burial will be in Greenville Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Boone-Wells Funeral Home. He was born September 3, 1934 in Sunflower County in Doddsville, MS. At the time of his death, Billy was surrounded by his wife, children, grandchildren, sisters and friends. He had lived in Winterville, MS most of his life. He farmed for many years with his father, brother, sons and grandsons. He was a member of Archer Island and Huntington Point Hunting Clubs. He served on the board of Archer Island Hunting Club, Farmers Incorporated and Peoples Gin of Winterville. For the last six and a half years, he was the Shop Manager for the Washington County Building and Grounds / Convention Center.  Besides working in the fields, his greatest enjoyment in life was his relationship with his children and grandchildren. He was known as “Papa” to all the children that he came into contact with, including those that he worked with while employed at All Saints Episcopal School in Vicksburg. Billy was preceded in death by his mother and father, William George Trotter, Sr. and Nellie May Trotter; brother, Jimmy Edward Trotter and son William Weeks Trotter, Jr. “Bill.”  Billy is survived by his wife, Delores “Tootie” Trotter; three children, Georgia Gail, Claude Rick and Robert Scott Trotter; five sisters, Pauline Hearn, Earline Watson, Nadine Hicks, Linda Presswood and Addie Finley. He is also survived by an extensive family including grandchildren (Ike Massey, Kristi Thompson, Tim Massey, Renee Dendy, Julia Parker, William Trotter, Richard Trotter, Chris Trotter, David Trotter, Luke Trotter Crosby, Lynn Trotter and Jimmy Trotter); fourteen beloved great- grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Boone-Wells Funeral Home.
