Funeral services for Doris Chastain Belongea, 91, of Greenville will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 30, 2012 at Boone Funeral Home, Greenville. She died Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at Delta Regional Medical Center. Burial will be in Greenville Cemetery under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville.
Mrs. Belongea was born in Jefferson, TX moving to Leland where she graduated from public school. She married Harold Belongea and they made their home in Greenville where they both were employed with Fava Brothers Grocery and where she was known as Mrs. B.
They lived in many areas of the country while Mr. Belongea served in the Army Air Corp. and they returned to Greenville when he retired in 1971. He preceded her in death in 1990. She later moved to Lake Village, AR where she was a resident of the Lake Village Residential Center.
Mrs. Belongea was a communicant of St. Joseph Catholic Church, a member of the American Red Cross and volunteered at the Greenville Welcome Center. She had a love for music and dancing. She was loved by so many and will be missed by her friends and family.
She is survived by 3 daughters, Louise Burnside (Cliff) of Greenville; Anita Lee (Bob) of West Point, MS and Betty Loflin (Mark) of Madison, MS; a sister, Lettie Dee King of Lake Village, AR; 4 grandchildren , Chip Burnside (April), Clay Burnside, Lauren Loflin and Walker Loflin; and 2 great grandchildren, Noah and Jonah Burnside.
The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 p.m., Friday, November 30, 2012 at Boone Funeral Home, Greenville.
