Arlene Ellen Curtis Brown

Memorial services for Arlene Ellen Curtis Brown, 81, of Leland will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 29 at Leland Presbyterian Church.  She died Monday, August 27 at her home.  Services are under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Leland.
 
Mrs. Brown was born in Meadville, Pennsylvania October 2, 1930.  She married David Brown in 1949, and in 1958 they moved their family to Mississippi.  Arlene spent most of her adult life working as an office manager for Dr. Tommy Simmons.  She retired in 1999.  She has been a member of Leland Presbyterian Church since 1967, where she served as youth leader for 20 years.  She also served as a deacon, an elder, Bible leader for the night circle, and moderator of the morning circle.  On Mother’s Day of this year Mrs. Brown was awarded an Honorary Life Membership in the Leland Presbyterian Women.  She was a faithful and dedicated member of the LIF Committee, the Social Committee of the church, and the Buff Love Sunday School class.
 
Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her husband in 1980 and later by her brother, Keith Curtis.  She is survived by 2 daughters, Lauri Sartor of Chester, Virginia and Robin Pace (Stanley R.) of Sikeston, Missouri; a granddaughter, Emily L. Pace of Springfield, Missouri; and 2 brothers, David Curtis of Cleveland, Ohio and Wayne Curtis of Colorado Springs, Colorado.
 
A visitation will be held 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 29 in Leland Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall.  Memorials may be made to the church or a charity of the doner’s choice.
