Funeral services for Ava Grace Oakes, 3 months, of Greenville will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at Emmanuel Baptist Church. She died Sunday, October 7, 2012 at University of Mississippi Medical Center, Jackson. Burial will be in Lakeview Memorial Gardens, Greenville under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville. Ava Grace was born at University of Mississippi Medical Center on June 18, 2012 and weighed 3.5 pounds and was 15 3/4″ long. She spent the first 2 months of her life in the NICU at University of Mississippi Medical Center followed by 12 glorious days at home, loved by family. On day 13 she developed pneumonia which ultimately took her life 36 days later. All the glory of her precious days here with us were given to us from her will to fight, her great physicians and The Lord Jesus Christ. Ava Grace was anointed to the Lord hours before her passing by Bro. Mark Rowlen. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather Jim Williams, maternal great grandfathers, F. J. West and Grover Williams, paternal great grandfather, Luther Oakes, aunt, Mary Elizabeth Oakes and uncle, Doyle Williams. She is survived by her parents, Bryan and Amy Williams Oakes, Jr. of Greenville; 2 brothers, Landon Nevels and Trace Oakes of Greenville; maternal grandmother, Gail Williams of Greenville; paternal grandparents, Bryan and Patsy Oakes of Greenville; maternal great grandmothers, Betty Ellen West of Greenville and Betty Williams of Greenville; paternal great grandmother, Doris Oakes of Greenville and paternal great grandparents, Cortez and Louise Banks of Greenville; aunt, Shannon Williams of Greenville and uncle, James “Jimbo” Williams of Cleveland; and many other aunts, uncles and cousins. The family will receive friends from 10:00 -11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at Emmanuel Baptist Church.
