Funeral services for Paul Downing Mounce, 29, of Cleveland will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at First United Methodist Church, Greenville. He died Friday, October 12, 2012 at Bolivar Medical Center, Cleveland. Burial will be in Indianola City Cemetery under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville. Paul was born February 22, 1983 at the King’s Daughters Hospital in Greenville. Paul was the only born son to the late Ms. Deborah Downing McDermot and Mr. Mark Anthony Mounce. Paul graduated from St. Joseph High School in 2001 where he participated in varsity football and soccer. Paul received a Bachelors of Accountancy from Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, NC. He also received a Masters in Accountancy from Delta State University in Cleveland. Paul was a member of the PIKE fraternity. He worked at Ellis and Hirshberg CPA in Clarksdale while completing his masters. Later he worked for Baird and Stallings CPA firm in Indianola. Paul also worked for the Washington County Head Start Center as a comptroller. His last employment was as the city clerk for the city of Cleveland, MS. His love of soccer continued over the years so much that he coached his daughters youth soccer team. He was also an avid outdoorsman where he enjoyed hunting and fishing with his “Paps” and his cousins. Paul was also a huge LSU and Saints fan spending his younger years in Louisiana. Paul was preceded in death by his mother, Debra Downing McDermott and his maternal grandfather, Wayne Earl Downing, his paternal grandmother, Joanne Smith and his uncle, Ronnie Mance and Aunt Beverly Hitt. He is survived by his wife, Heather Harbison Mounce of Cleveland; daughter, Morgan Elizabeth Mounce of Cleveland and son, Keller VanOwen Mounce of Cleveland; father, Mark Anthony Mounce of Ashville, NC; maternal grandmother, Joann James Downing of Greenville; aunt, Patricia Downing Suber of Greenville, uncle, Bud Hitt of Greenville; 3 cousins, Cynthia Danielle Suber of Greenville, Justin Daniel Suber (Ashley) of Greenville and Taft Hitt of Greenville; father-in-law, Mike Harbison of Guntown, MS; mother-in-law, Susie Tidwell of Jasper, AL and grandparents-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Willie Harbison of Guntown, MS. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at First United Methodist Church, Greenville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Washington County Mental Health Center or Camp Looking Glass.
