Funeral services for Robert John Austin, 59, of Leland will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at Boone Funeral Home, Leland. He died Monday, November 12, 2012 at Delta Regional Medical Center. Burial will be in Greenville Cemetery under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Leland. Mr. Austin was a native of Leland and graduated from Indianola Academy. In January 1982 he married Gwen Crick. He worked with his father at Austin Garage before becoming a mechanic for Milam Campbell Ford. Mr. Austin later became a rural route mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mr. Austin is survived by his wife Gwen Crick Austin of Leland; a daughter, Melyssa Austin Hitchcock (Trey) of Leland; a son, Dr. Robert Myles Austin of Charleston, WV; 2 sisters, Patsy Daniels (Doug) of Lake Village, AR and Doris Jennings of Greenville; and 2 grandchildren, Thomas Peyton Hitchcock and Nathan Hitchcock. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at Boone Funeral Home, Leland.
