Funeral services for Ethel Faye Davis Huddleston, 92, of Greenville, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at Boone Funeral Home in Greenville. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Mrs. Huddleston passed away on Friday, July 17, 2026, at her home. Arrangements are under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville.
Ethel was born on May 9, 1934, in Paris, Mississippi, to James S. Davis and Oma E. Sanders Davis.
Ethel loved sewing, gardening, crocheting, fishing, and canning, and she especially enjoyed caring for others. Above all, she cherished spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a devoted, lifelong member of the Church of God of Prophecy.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 56 years, Green W. Huddleston; her parents, James S. and Oma E. Davis; her daughters, Kathy Pruitt and Darlene Hollowell who died unexpectedly on the morning of July 20, 2026; her grandson, John Bradley Rippee; her granddaughter, Racheal Elizabeth Irwin; her sisters, Leona Dunn, Marie Singleton, Flora Andrew, and Effie Ratliff; and her brothers, Jack Davis and Harold Davis.
She is survived by her daughters, Charlotte Rippee, Molly Irwin and her husband Bruce, and Rita Johnson; her son, Donald Huddleston; sons-in-law, George Hollowell and Jim Pruitt; ten grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, and many friends.
The family extends their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Adoration Hospice for the compassionate care they provided. They especially wish to thank her nurse, Jamie Allen, whose exceptional care, kindness, and unwavering support brought comfort to Ethel and her family during a difficult time. Another special thanks to Earnest and Carol for all the love and support given to their mama with their many phone calls and visits.
