Funeral services for Evelyn Hardy Cole, 80, of Leland will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at Boone Funeral Home, Leland. She passed away Saturday, March 7, 2020 at her home. Burial will be in Leland-Stoneville Cemetery under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Leland.
Mrs. Cole was born in Quitman County, Mississippi and was a native of Tallahatchie County. She was the daughter of the late Duell and Martha Hardy. In 1964 she married Curtis Cole and they made their home in Leland. She was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church, Leland.
She was preceded in death by her husband, three sisters and four brothers. She is survived by two daughters, Tammy Irby (Danny) of Leland, MS and Melinda Etheridge of Brandon, MS; two sons, Jimmy Rowland (Patty) of Tillatoba, MS and Kenneth Rowland (Mitzi) of Enid, MS; stepson, Danny Cole (Rita) of Eads, TN; two brothers, Larry Hardy (Barbara) and Lindsey Hardy; three grandsons, Annon Etheridge (Molly), Todd Etheridge and Justin Rowland (Amanda); four granddaughters, Lauren Sullivan (Robby), Eva Irby, Casey Etheridge and Marie Rowland; two step grandsons, Jason Cole and Shelby Cole; one great grandson and five great granddaughters; a host of nieces and nephews, and a very dear friend Sammie Hughes.
There will be a visitation from 1:00-2:00 p.m. prior to the funeral at the funeral home. Services will be officiated by Charles Runnels. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
