Frances Louise Chapman

Funeral services for Frances Louise Mayo Owens Chapman, 89, of Daphne, AL (formerly of Leland, MS), will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at Boone Funeral Home in Leland. There will be a visitation from 1:00 p.m. until the service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Leland-Stoneville Cemetery. She passed peacefully on October 8, 2025.

Frances was born September 5, 1936, in Malvern, AR, to Frank and Virgie Mayo.
   
Frances lived much of her life in the Mississippi Delta. She enjoyed a long career with La-Z-Boy furniture in Leland, MS, until her retirement. After retirement, Frances was active in her church, Emmanuel Baptist Church in Greenville, MS. She also enjoyed time with great-grandchildren, cooking, gardening, and mowing her own grass.

Remaining to cherish Frances’ memory are her daughters: Linda Vardaman (Mike), Sharon Branning. Grandchildren: Michelle Wynns (Cole), Emily Kelly, Tommy Kelly (Haley), Angela Parkinson-Piasecki (Mike), Chastity Pearson, Bridgette Vardaman (Ricky Fletcher), Robert Vardaman (Luiz Coelho), Justin Vardaman, Joshua Branning, Micheal Owens (Vickie Heffington), Chevy Davis (Scott). Frances had 10 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter. While she had a large family, she loved an even larger extended family of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Preceding Frances in death are her husbands: Willie Lee (Red) Owens and Jerry Chapman. Children: Ruthie Kelly and Michael Owens (Teresa). Brothers: Glen Freeman Mayo (Pat) and Albert Leonard Mayo (Barbara). Parents: Frank and Virgie Mayo.
