Funeral services for Lt. Colonel Gary Alan Lindsay, U.S. Air Force, Retired, 68, a resident of Yorktown, Virginia, and a former resident of Greenville, Mississippi, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at Boone Funeral Home in Greenville. Following the service, burial with military funeral honors will take place at 2:00 p.m. at the North Mississippi Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Kilmichael, Mississippi. He passed away on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at Riverside Walter Reed Hospital in Gloucester, VA.
Gary was born in Little Rock, AR, to Wallace and Martha Ann Taylor Lindsay. As the son of a military family, he spent his childhood in several countries around the world. He graduated from high school in Goldsboro, North Carolina, in 1975 before attending Mississippi Delta Junior College and later Mississippi State University. In July 1979, Gary joined the U.S. Air Force, serving for 21 years, retiring in January 2001 with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. After his retirement, he settled in Virginia and continued working as a government contractor on and off until early 2026.
He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert Lindsay.
He is survived by his daughter, Moriah Lindsay of Yorktown, VA, and son-in-law, Scott Anderson.
