Harold Blan Baker

Funeral services for Harold Blan Baker of Hollandale will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at the Hollandale Church of God. There will be a visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the service time at the church. He passed away on Thursday, May 14, at Delta Health System-The Medical Center in Greenville, MS. Burial will be in the Hollandale Cemetery under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Leland.

Harold was born on May 12, 1942, in Keiser, Arkansas. He and his family moved to Missouri shortly thereafter, where he spent his childhood. Harold moved to Mississippi in 1966 to farm with his brother. He remained in Mississippi for the rest of his life.

Harold met his wife, Linda, on a blind date. They married a year and a half later and had two children. Harold worked as a farm hand, then later hauled propane for Rebel Gas and Synergy. Harold worked at Twin County as a Mechanic Assistant until his retirement.

Harold loved the outdoors. He particularly loved turkey hunting and deer hunting. Another favorite past time was repairing firearms. Harold also enjoyed raising all kinds of farm animals, some as pets and some as food for his family.

Harold was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Nadine Parker Baker; his parents, Walter and Maggie Jones Baker; his brothers: Buford “Boots” Baker; Vernon (Verline) Baker; Dale (Barbara) Baker; and his sisters: Eva Baker (Harold) Ward; Lilly Baker (Ed) Johnston; Betty Baker (Jerry) Hayes.

Harold is survived by his two daughters: Lora Ann (John) Merrill of Mebane, North Carolina, and Rhonda Lynn (Mark) DiBiase of Leland; two granddaughters: Maegan and Marlayna Merrill; his brothers: Billy (Judy) Baker of Joshua, Texas, and Samuel “Jay” (Earline) Baker of Tremont, Mississippi; and his sister, Bernice “Pug” Baker West of Dalton, Georgia.

Officiating will be Rev. Dennis Salley of the Hollandale Baptist Church.
