Funeral services for John Wellington Wong, 79, of Greenville, MS will be at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at Boone Funeral Home, Greenville. There will be a visitation from 1:00 p.m. until the service time. He died on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at Select Specialty Hospital in Jackson. Burial will be in the Greenville Chinese Cemetery under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville.
John was born in Greenville, MS and graduated from Greenville High School and then attended and graduated from the University of Mississippi Pharmacy School. After graduation from Ole Miss he returned to Greenville where he was a well known Pharmacist in the Greenville and Leland area. At the time of his death he was currently working with A&A Pharmacy in Leland. John was a member of First Baptist Church in Greenville.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Pace Wong and his parents, Ross and Marie Wong.
He is survived by his daughter, Candace Wong; his companion and mother to his daughter, Pamela Wong; brother, Brunswick Wong; and nephews, James and David Wong.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made in Mr. Wong’s memory to the Greenville Chinese Cemetery Association, 247 Woodlawn Drive, Greenville, MS 38701.
