Funeral services for Dorothy Ann (Dot) Marchbanks, 87, of Greenville, will be Wednesday, June 15 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Greenville. Visitation will be at 1:00 p.m. Funeral will be at 2:00 p.m., with Rev. Michael Lindsay officiating, followed by burial at the Greenville Cemetery. Burial is under the direction of Boone Funeral Home.

Dot passed away at home on Friday, June 10, 2022, surrounded by her family.

Dot was born in Greenville, MS on April 26, 1935, to Julius W. and Martha Martin Godwin. She graduated from E.E. Bass High School in Greenville, MS in 1953.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, James “Bubba” Godwin and Robert Wayne Godwin, her sister, Betty Ruth Godwin and her son-in-law, Greg Hudgins. Dot is survived by her husband, Charles R. Marchbanks, Sr., her son
Charles R. Marchbanks, Jr. (Terry) of Oxford, MS, daughters, Julie Marchbanks Turner (Larry) of Bartlett, TN and Jeri Marchbanks Hudgins of Greenville, MS. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, Rebecca Vallatini (Kole), Danny Chamblee (Brittany), Sara Adams (Chad), Chris
Turner (Brittany), Jimmy Jackson, Il (Julie), Jessica Hudgins, James Hudgins, II (Abby), Kelly Horton, Kathy Knight (Jimmy), fifteen great-grandchildren, nine nieces and two nephews.

Dot was an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Greenville for 66 years where she was a longtime member of the choir, Sunday School teacher for many years, and where she and Charles were married on June 27, 1957. She was a Charter member of the Coterie Club, a member of the Alice Bell Garden Club, a member of the Revelers Club, served on the Board of Directors for the Greenville Teen Club and The Boys and Girls Club of Washington County, and was a longtime supporter of Washington School Athletics.
She was a proud supporter and fan of the Ole Miss Rebels for 46 years and enjoyed tailgating with family and friends at Ole Miss football games.

Dot and her husband Charles were avid RV travelers, starting with tents, then pull trailers and finally motor homes. Traveling with her two brothers-in-law and their wives and friends to 42 states over the years.
