Pre-Planning Options

Talking about death is often difficult. Yet, discussion and pre-planning often alleviate many of the unknowns. Funeral and burial arrangements are important considerations and should be discussed openly and honestly. Careful counseling with one of our trained staff can promote wise planning of funerals and wise spending for this necessary expense.

Pre-planning your funeral arrangements does not require pre-payment, however, it does provide an opportunity to fully recognize the events, requirements, and expenses associated with a death. Pre-planning allows the opportunity to choose the type and extent of services wanted. Pre-planning provides the funeral home with vital information necessary to file the death certificate and draft an obituary. Pre-planning verifies the current cost of the requested services.

Pre-payment of selected funeral services and merchandise guarantees the cost of the selected items until the time of death. According to the National Funeral Directors’ Association, the average cost of a funeral service has risen from $6,500 in 2000 to $8,500 in 2020. Prices associated with death will most likely continue to increase.

Boone Funeral Home offers a variety of pre-planning and pre-payment options. Please allow one of our professional staff members to conference with you in a dignified and respectful manner. Contact any of our offices for scheduling. Home conferences are available upon request.
