Memorial services for Sallie Anne Neblett Gresham, 68, of The Villages, Fla., formerly of Greenville, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at St. James’ Episcopal Church, Greenville. She died April 3, 2012, at Lane Purcell Hospice House, Sumterville, Fla., following a prolonged illness. She was born in Thomasville, Ga., on Sept. 6, 1943. She moved to Greenville in 1956, where she later graduated from Greenville High School. She attended Mississippi University for Women before graduating from Mississippi State University with a degree in general studies. Following her graduation, Gresham returned to Greenville, where she signed on as a rookie reporter for the Pulitzer Prize-winning Delta Democrat Times. She spent the next 43 years at the DDT, ending her notable tenure at the newspaper as senior editor in 2009. Gresham was a member of St. James Episcopal Church of Greenville. She was a longtime supporter of the Greater Greenville Habitat for Humanity, having served on its board of directors for numerous years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Benny Gresham. She is survived by her son, Frank Gresham (Logan Mosby) of Lady Lake, Fla.; her daughter, Morgan Gresham (Michael Pohl) of St. Petersburg, Fla.; granddaughters, Kahler Pohl and Marisa Pohl, both of St. Petersburg, Fla.; a brother, Wallace Neblett III (Margaret) of Nashville, Tenn.; a sister, Kathleen Shapley of Jackson; and a number of nieces and nephews. Boone Funeral Home, Greenville, has charge of the local arrangements. The Rev.
