W. K. (Wolf) Hellmers

W. K. (Wolf) Hellmers died Saturday, October 8, 2011 at his home in Lake Village, Arkansas. He was the son of Hans and Edith Hellmers of Dresden, Germany, where he was born.  The family moved to Alexandria, Egypt during Hitler’s regime and later moved to New Orleans, LA where he attended grade school, high school and became a graduate of Tulane University. He married Patricia Henderson and served in the U. S. Navy during WWII and as the Commanding Officer of the Naval Reserve Unit in Greenville in the 50’s. He managed Gamble Brothers and Archer Clinic until purchasing Circle L in the early 70’s, which he owned and operated until July 2009. Preceded in death by his first wife Patricia Hellmers, he married Jan Z. Acker and moved to Lake Village, AR. He is survived by his wife Jan Hellmers; two daughters, Becky Serio (Joe) and Karon Maddox (Nixon); stepdaughter, Katherine Acker, stepson, Mark Riable (Kathy); Grandsons, Bill Keeton (Lorrie), Lee Maddox (Brittany), Adam Fuquay and Justin Riable; granddaughter, Ginger Maddox; and great grandchildren, Dane Keeton, Joseph Maddox, and Dillon Maddox. There will be no services.  Any donations may be made to St. Jude, American Cancer Society or American Heart Society.
