Graveside services for Evelyn Joy Oswalt Tubertini, 82, of Greenville will be 2:30 p.m. Monday, April 29 at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. She died Friday, April 26 at her home. Services are under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville. Evelyn was born April 9, 1931 in Sturgis, Mississippi, the daughter of Carroll N. and Bessie Hutchinson Oswalt. She graduated from Sturgis High School in 1949, where she was president of her senior class. Two weeks after graduation she boarded a train for Greenville to attend The King’s Daughters Hospital School of Nursing. She was named Most Beautiful of her nursing class and made several close friendships that remained until her death. After graduation, she began her lifelong career with King’s Daughters Hopital and was a surgical nurse until retiring in 1996. Evelyn married Alexander J. Tubertini on May 21, 1955, and they have three children. Survivors include her husband, Alex Tubertini of Greenville; a daughter, Peggy Tubertini of Oxford, Mississippi; 2 sons, Greg Tubertini (Trudy) of Leland and David Tubertini of Dallas, Texas; 2 sisters, Carolyn Davis of Birmingham, Alabama and Peggy Bell (Jimmy) of Sturgis, Mississippi; 1 brother, David Oswalt (Carolyn) of Sturgis; and 4 grandchildren, Landi, Lindsey, and Laci Tubertini of Leland and Nicholas Tubertini of Dallas. A visitation will be held 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Monday at Boone Funeral Home, Greenville.
