Richard Charles Nourse

Funeral services for Richard Charles Nourse, 90, of Greenville will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 3, 2012 at Boone Funeral Home, Greenville.  He died Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at Delta Regional Medical Center.  Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville. He was a native of Oneida, NY, the son of the late George Lewis and Iona Sweeting Nourse.  He graduated from Oneida High School and served in Europe during World War II as a navigator flying a B52 Bomber.  After his discharge he completed his education at Colgate University in Hamilton, NY.  He was employed with Lewis Grocer Company in Indianola, a division of Super Valu, as Advertising Director.  He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ellen “Teenie” Daniel Nourse in 1971, his parents, a brother, Roger Ivan Nourse and a grandson, Brian Peets.  In 1977 he married Katherine Beckwith Yarbrough.  He was an active member of First Presbyterian Church where he was a member of the choir for many years and was a former scoutmaster. He is survived by his wife, Katherine Beckwith Nourse of Greenville; a daughter, Kathie Peets Seidel of Fort Worth, TX; a son, Dr. Richard C. Nourse, Jr. (Jan) of Lake Dallas, TX; 2 step children, Janice Marie Yarbrough of Greenville and Randolph W. Yarbrough of Bastrop, TX; 4 granddaughters, Emily Nourse, Erin Nource, Jing Nourse and Katia Seidel; and 3 grandsons, Gregory Seidel, Randolph W. Yarbrough, Jr., and David Lee Yarbrough. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Friday, February 3, 2012 at Boone Funeral Home, Greenville.
