Funeral services for Wai “William” Fong Mar, 76, of Greenville will be at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, May 20, 2012 at Boone Funeral Home, Greenville. He died Friday, May 11, 2012 at Delta Regional Medical Center. Burial will be in the Greenville Chinese Cemetery under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville. He was born in Canton China moving to the United States in 1965. He made his home in Greenville where he owned and operated Better Food Market retiring in 2006. He was a member of the Chinese Mission at First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Suey Fong Pang. He is survived by his wife, Ngan “Nancy” Shun Mar of Greenville; daughter, Linda M. Sanders of Birmingham, AL; 2 sons, William Mar, Jr. of Seattle, WA and Jody Mar of Birmingham, AL; a sister, Sue Gee of New York City, NY; a granddaughter, Breanna Sanders of Birmingham, AL and several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 p.m., Sunday, May 20, 2012 at Boone Funeral Home, Greenville.
