Funeral services for Nora Alice Grimmett Whitaker, 75, of New Albany, MS will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 16, 2013 at Boone Funeral Home, Indianola, MS. She died Thursday, March 14, 2013 at Baptist Memorial Hospital, New Albany, MS. Burial will be in Lehrton Cemetery, Ruleville, MS under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Indianola, MS. Mrs. Whitaker was born March 13, 1938 in Searcy, AR to Andrew and Draper Grimmett. She lived most of her life in Indianola before moving to New Albany in 2002. She is preceded in death by her husband, Louie Whitaker, daughter, Lisa Muirhead, her parents and a brother, A.D. Grimmett and his wife, Mildred. She is survived by sons, James Wesley Tharp, Jr. (Ann) of New Albany and Berry Louie Whitaker of Indianola; son-in-law, Robert Muirhead of Florence; sister, JoAnn Peters (Herschel) of Pea Ridge, AR; brothers, James Grimmett (Arkie) of Searcy, AR, Jerry Grimmett (Eleta) of New Albany and Ray Grimmett of Baton Rouge, LA; grandchildren, Wes Tharp (Ashley) of Gibsonton, FL, Andrew Bennett (Kara) of Shreveport, LA, Matthew Bennett (Teresa) of Florence, MS and one great grandchild. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 16, 2013 at Boone Funeral Home, Indianola, MS.
