Funeral services for Dorothy June Caudle Gower, 91, of Leland will be at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, October 6, 2011 at Boone Funeral Home, Leland. She died, Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at her home in Leland. Burial will be in Leland-Stoneville Cemetery under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Leland. She was a native of Caruthersville, MO and attended public school in Braggadocio, MO. In 1936 she moved to the Mississippi Delta and in 1937 she married Joseph Wilburn Gower making their home near Leland where they were engaged in farming until Mr. Gower’s death in 1974. In 1981 she made her home in New Orleans, LA, then moved to Jackson, TN in 1987. She returned to Leland in 1994. She was a member of Parkview Baptist Church in Leland. She is survived by her daughter, Louise G. Etheridge of Leland; 4 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
