Funeral services for Shirley Perry Allen, 87, of Indianola will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 5, 2013 at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, Indianola. She died Wednesday, April 3, 2013 in Birmingham, Alabama. Burial will be in Indianola City Cemetery under the direction of Boone-Card Funeral Home, Indianola. Mrs. Allen was born in Yazoo City, MS on April 16, 1925 to William Sidney Perry and Estelle Shurley Perry. She lived most of her life in Indianola, MS and attended Blue Mountain College and graduated from University of Mississippi in 1946 where she was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority. She was a charter member and past president of Town and Country Garden Club and Den Mother of Troop 41 in Indianola. She was a former board member of the Episcopal Church Women of the Diocese of Mississippi and was a communicant of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Indianola. Mrs. Allen was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Julian Allen, Jr. and her son, Robert Julian Allen III. She is survived by her children, Sidney Perry Allen (Deborah), Meredith Baird Allen (Margaret), Shirley Anne Stringfellow (Ed), and daughter-in-law Kathy Keach Allen. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 p.m., Friday, April 5, 2013 at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church Parish House.
