Memorial services for William Thomas “Bill” Vandevender, 59, of Hollandale will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 14, 2011 at First United Methodist Church, Greenville. He died Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at his home. Arrangements are under the direction of Boone-Wells Funeral Home, Greenville. Bill was born on May 26, 1952 to the late Louis and Mary Addie Vandevender. He grew up in Mayersville and graduated from Rolling Fork High School in 1970. He then graduated from Mississippi State University in 1974. He was retired from the Right-of-Way Division with the Mississippi Department of Transportation. He was a member of Greenville First United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife Ann Catledge Vandevender of Hollandale; son, Mark Boykin (Crystal) of Vicksburg; brother, Louis “Buddy” Vandevender (Jamie); grandchildren, Patrick, Bennett and Macey Boykin and Austin Johnson; nieces, Allison Boykin Davis and Mary Margaret Boykin McDonald; nephew, Van Vandevender and mother-in-law, Rivers Catledge. A visitation will follow the memorial service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, Greenville or to Tourettes Syndrome, 42-40 Bell Blvd., Bayside, NY 11361.
