Funeral services for Jasper Victor “Jack” Bennett, 93, of Greenville will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 5, 2011 at Parkview Baptist Church. He died Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at his home in Greenville. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens with military rites under the direction of Boone-Wells Funeral Home. He was born in Smithville, MS on July 4, 1918 to Itha Calvin and Susie Pearce Bennett. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the European Theater. He was a longtime businessman in Greenville where he was terminal manager for F & W Trucking and later with CBC Trucking. Mr. Bennett was a long-time member and deacon at Parkview Baptist Church where he served in many areas of leadership until poor health kept him from attending. He was preceded in death by his wife of 71 years, Margaret, his parents, a sister, Josephine Ruble and a brother, James Bennett. He is survived by a daughter, Joan Fulmer (Robert) and a son, Wayne Bennett (Ginger); 6 granddaughters, 1 grandson, 5 great granddaughters and 4 great grandsons. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 p.m., Saturday at Parkview Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Pierce Chapel’s Cemetery Upkeep Fund in Smithville, MS or to your favorite charity.
