Funeral services for Catherine J. Law, 99, of Chatham will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, April 27, 2013 at Glen Allan United Methodist Church. She died Monday, April 22, 2013 at Delta Regional Medical Center. Burial will be in Greenfield Cemetery, Glen Allan under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville. Mrs. Law was born September 14, 1913 at the King Daughter’s Hospital in Greenville. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul John Jones, Sr of Hollandale. She graduated from Hollandale High School and attended Hillman College which was in Clinton, MS. In 1936 she was married to Sidney Iverson Law, Jr. of Chatham. She was an active member of the Glen Allan United Methodist Church, serving as one of the pianist until the age of 91 and she was also a member of the Glen Allan United Methodist Women. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brother, Paul John Jones, Jr. and her sister, Mrs. Anne Rita Jones Hussey. She is survived by her son, Sidney Iverson Law, III (Marion); two granddaughters, Catherine Law Finney and Melissa Law Kovarcik (Joey); great grandson, Pearce Joseph Kovarcik; niece, Anna K. Sadler; nephew, John H. Hussey (Kay); and several great nieces and great nephews and their families. The family will receive friends from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday at Glen Allan United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Glen Allan United Methodist Church or to a charity of the donor’s choice. The Rev. Greg Duggar will officiate.
