Otho Albert Wells, Jr.

Funeral services with Military Rites for Otho Albert Wells, Jr., 78, of Lake Village, AR will be at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at First Baptist Church, Jackson.  He died Sunday, April 28, 2013 at KDH Allegiance Specialty Hospital, Greenville.  Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Park, Jackson under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville. Mr. Wells was born in Jackson, MS and graduated from Central High School and from Millsaps College.  He actively served in the Air Force and the Air National Guard, retiring as Lt. Colonel.  Mr. Wells was a Deputy Director for the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) before becoming a self employed real estate appraiser.  After retiring as an appraiser he moved to Foley, AL and had recently moved to Lake Village, AR. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Foley, AL. Mr. Wells is survived by his wife, Janie Wells of Lake Village, AR; daughter, Liz Clements (Tim) of Greenville; son, John A. Wells of Houston, TX; 2 sisters, Mary Lou Cummings (Steve) of Foley, AL and Melanie Burke (Pat) of Clarksdale, MS; 2 brothers, Gipson Wells (Mildred) of Orange Beach, AL and Preston Wells (Gerri) of Pascagoula, MS; 3 grandchildren, Chaille Clements of Washington, D.C., Matthew Clements and John Christian Clements both of Greenville. The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at First Baptist Church, Jackson.
