Bobby Wardene Cothran

Funeral services for Bobby Wardene Cothran, 87, of Greenville will be at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, January 8, 2012 at Boone-Wells Funeral Home.  He died Thursday, January 5, 2012 at MS State Veterans Home in Kosciusko.  Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens under the direction of Boone-Wells Funeral Home. He was born to the late Robert Taylor and Lenora Gore Cothran in Cumberland, MS and graduated from Benoit public schools. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy serving during WWII in the Pacific Theatre.  After his discharge he returned to Greenville and was employed at Greenville Mills and later with Baird and Company.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved his garden.  He was a Baptist. He was preceded in death by his wife Florence Rainey Cothran in 1995 and by a daughter, Diane Estes in 2010. He is survived by 3 daughers, Linda Griffing (Phil) of Vicksburg, Cheryl Estes (Phillip) of Greenville and Debbie Groce (Phillip) of Carrollton, TX; a son, Robert “Bobby” Cothran (Linda) of Avon; a son-in-law, Jimmie Estes of Greenville; 11 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson. The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 p.m., Sunday, January 8, 2012 at Boone-Wells Funeral Home.
