Funeral services for Percy Marlow Stephan, 87, of Ft. Worth, TX and formerly of Ruleville were on Monday, March 5, 2012 at Boone Funeral Home, Indianola. She passed away peacefully at home in Ft. Worth on Wednesday, February 29, 2012 after a brief bout with leukemia. Burial was in the Marlow Family Cemetery in Ruleville under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Indianola. Percy was born July 19, 1924 in Ruleville, MS to Ruby Marlow Kirk, three months after the death of her father. Percy grew up in Indianola and graduated from Ole Miss, where she was a proud member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority. She began her career as a stewardess with Delta Airlines and lived in Chicago, Miami, Atlanta and Ft. Worth, where she met her husband of fifty years, Perry Stephan. Perry Stephan served in the USAF and his work resulted in their living in Asia, Europe, and across the U.S. Percy traveled extensively and visited all 50 states and every continent, except Antarctica. Percy enjoyed many life-long friendships and spending time with her family. She felt obligated to help all in need and volunteered with many charitable organizations. She never met a stranger, enjoyed all music and was extremely proud of her southern heritage. Percy is preceded in death by her husband, Perry Stephan, father, Percy Marlow, parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roger Kirk and sister, Sarah Smithhart. She is survived by children Marcy, Mike and Mark and grandchildren, Lauren and Hunter. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
