Mamie Catherine Rodgers Lashley Mascagni

Funeral services for Mamie Catherine Rodgers Lashley Mascagni, 90, of Greenville will be at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, January 14 at The Greater Faith Tabernacle. She passed away quietly surrounded by her family on Tuesday, January 9 at her home. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville. 

Mamie was born in Pontotoc, MS to Grandon Preston and Mattie Rodgers on May 10, 1927. She married James Jefferson Lashley in 1942. He preceded her in death on May 22, 1988 and twenty-three years after his death she married Elmo Mascagni on February 12, 2011 in Greenville. He preceded her in death on June 15, 2017. 

Her personal interests included attending her church, reading the Bible and visiting the sick. She loved visiting the hospital where she was a compassionate listener and encouraging caregiver. Until her death she was an active member of The Greater Faith Tabernacle located at 1876 Burning Bush Drive in Greenville. 

Mamie was also preceded in death by her parents, all her siblings, uncles and aunts. She is survived by three sons, James Jefferson Lashley, Jr. (Alice) of Peoria, IL, Jerry Wayne Lashley (Sheela Rose) of Greenville and Carl Dennis Lashley (Shelia Ann) of Greenville; four daughters, Mary Cathren Ellard (Wesley) of Greenville, Linda Jean Long of Clarksdale, Peggy Ann Kennedy (Art) of California and Wanda Diane Odom (Jimmie Earl) of Richland, MS; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. 

She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. 

There will be a visitation from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Saturday, January 13 at The Greater Faith Tabernacle. The Reverend James Lashley (her eldest son) will officiate and Pastor Charles Fisher will assist.
