Indianola, MS Funeral services for Robert Leo Rodgers, age 95, of Greenville and formerly of Indianola will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 13 at Boone-Card Funeral Home, Indianola. He died Saturday, September 10 at Delta Regional Medical Center. Burial will follow in the Indianola City Cemetery. Mr. Rodgers was born in Pontotoc, MS where he received his education. He married Irene Dempsey in 1939. She preceded him in death. In 1941 he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served during WWII. After his discharge, he returned to Indianola and owned and operated Rodgers Floor Service. He worked until December 2010 and became a resident of Washington Care Center, Greenville in January 2011. He was a member of the VFW. Survivors include a daughter, Mary Franklin of Indianola; a son, Robert Earl Rodgers of Mullica Hills, NJ; a half sister, Mamie Lashley of Greenville; 6 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 13 at Boone-Card Funeral Home, Indianola.
