Funeral services for Margaret Elizabeth Mullen Kimbriel, 88, of Greenville will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at First Baptist Church Chapel, Greenville. She passed away on Friday, July 31, 2020 at Washington Care Center. Burial will be in Lakeview Gardens under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville.
She was born on November 12, 1931 in Indianola, MS the daughter of John Paul and Myrtle Skelton Mullen. She was a 1950 graduated of Indianola High School and attended Delta State University for one year, then King’s Daughters Nursing Program for one year. In 1952 she married her classmate from Indianola High School, James Paul Kimbriel. They were married until his death in 2004.
Mrs. Kimbriel worked as a bookkeeper for U.S. Axminster, known then as Greenville Mills and also as a bank teller. She returned to college at Mississippi Delta Community College and earned an associates degree as an RN in 1974. She was employed as a nurse at King’s Daughters Hospital and Kidney Care until her retirement.
Mrs. Kimbriel was a member of Second Baptist Church where she taught decades of children in 5th and 6th grade Sunday School. Her hobbies consisted of cross stitching, sewing, reading and gardening. She believed in Bible study and did this daily.
She was preceded in death by her husband; son, David Paul Kimbriel and two brothers, Robert Mullen (Kathy) and John Paul Mullen (Vivian) of Indianola.
She is survived by her daughter, June Kimbriel Dotson (Calvin,Jr.) of Tupelo; daughter-in-law, April Mobley Kimbriel of Greenville; three grandsons, Calvin Lewis Dotson III of Tupelo, James Paul Dotson of Tupelo and Matthew David Kimbriel of Greenville; sister, Carolyn Mullen Mitchell (Jerry) of Indianola and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.
There will be a visitation from 1:00-2:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the church.
