Graveside services for John Wayne Mosley, 70, a lifelong resident of Hollandale will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 9, 2021 at Hollandale Cemetery. He passed away on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson. Arrangements are under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Leland.
Mr. Mosley was born on December 20, 1950 in Greenville, MS. He was a graduate of Hollandale High School and Delta State University. Mr. Mosley was employed with Twin County Electric Power Association from 1989 until his retirement in 2017. He served on various statewide electrical cooperative boards.
He is preceded in death by his father, James Willard “Duck” Mosley, Sr.
He is survived by his mother, Bertha Mosley of Hollandale; his wife of 49 years, Rosie Jennings Mosley of Hollandale; son, Jeffrey Wayne Mosley and wife, Keetha Depriest Mosley of Winona; daughter, Leigh Mosley Lamkin and husband Will Lamkin of Madison; and by his grandchildren who affectionately knew him as “Pug”, Dayne Luby, Tillman Reed, Slay Luby and Scout Lamkin. Also surviving him are his brother, Jimmy Mosley (Sandra) of Hollandale and sisters, Debra Mosley Brown of Memphis and Teresa Mosley Powell (Michael) of Hernando.
There will be a visitation from 12:30-1:30 p.m. on Friday at Hollandale Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Blair E. Batson Hospital in Jackson, MS.
