Graveside services for Dolly Palmertree Burle, 90, of Greenville will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at the Greenville Cemetery. She died Sunday, December 26, 2021 at Magnolia Gardens. Arrangements are under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville.
Mrs. Burle was born on December 11, 1931 in Poplar Creek, MS to William Emmett Palmertree and Nancy Walker Palmertree. She graduated from Kilmichael High School in 1949 and attended King’s Daughters Nursing school graduating in 1952.
She married William Louis Burle on May 15, 1953 making their home in Greenville where she worked at King’s Daughters Hospital. She ran the maternity ward at KDH for many years until her retirement.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and a son-in-law, Benny Howse.
She is survived by two sons, William “Bill” L. Burle, Jr. (Elizabeth) of Greenville and Bobby E. Burle of Tupelo; a daughter, Susan Burle Howse of Greenville; three brothers, Duran Palmertree, Basil Palmertree and Thomas Wade Palmertree all of Poplar Creek, MS; five grandsons, Lou Burle, Jeb Burle, Robert Burle, Jr., Alex Burle and Burle Howse; brother-in-law, E. B. Martin of Jackson and a sister-in-law, Louis Palmertree of Minter City, MS.
