Funeral services for John Wesley Allen, 97, of Greenville will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at Boone Funeral Home, Leland. He died Sunday, April 23, 2023, at Legacy Manor in Greenville.
Mr. Allen was a native of Mississippi where he worked for Tennessee Gas Pipeline, retiring after 35 years. He was a musician and an avid outdoorsman. He was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Camillia Hollis Allen, son, George Allen, and stepson Bill Long; brothers, Lamar, Wayne, Billy, and L. C. Allen; sisters, Maude Ethel Perkins and Freddie Mae Thomas.
He is survived by a daughter, Liz Allen; stepson, Bobby Long; two brothers, Robert Allen, and Eugene Allen; seven grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
There will be a visitation from 1:00-2:00 p.m. before the service at the funeral home on Wednesday.
