Funeral services for Jerry Columbus Clark, 82, of Greenville will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 23, 2023, at Boone Funeral Home in Leland. He died on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at his home. Burial will be in the Hollandale City Cemetery under the direction of Boone Funeral Home.
Jerry was born in Avon, MS, and attended E.E. Bass. He has made his home in the Hollandale and Greenville area. He worked for his brother M.F. Clark at Clark Roofing before opening Clark Auto Repair in Hollandale for many years with his son Donnie by his side. After closing his shop, he worked as a mechanic/motor builder at Engine Rebuilders until he retired earlier this year. There was not a motor he couldn’t build, and he loved doing it. He attended Harmony Baptist Church.
Jerry was an avid Stock Car Racing fan. He would build the race car and his best friend, A.C. Parker, Sr. would drive it. They were a hard team to beat on and off the track. He passed his love of racing on to his Son Donnie, son-in-law Mike, and Grandsons Josh and Chris. He was so proud of them and their success as racers that he bragged about them to anybody who would listen. He also loved to watch football with his son-in-law Ike every Sunday. He loved the Kansas City Chiefs and a Love Hate relationship with the Atlanta Braves.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents Woodrow Ferris and Eva Evelyn Clark; sister, Maurice Reeves; brother, Marvin Clark, and two infant children, Jerry and Sherry Clark and his best friend, A.C. Parker, Sr.
He is survived by his wife, Elouise Johnson Clark; two sons, Ronnie Clark (Susan) of Isola; Donnie Clark (Angela) of West Monroe, LA.; three daughters, Teresa Clark (Xan) of Tupelo; Karen Spencer (Mike) of Greenville, and Angela Soto (Ike) of Greenville; Three sisters, Birtie Muirhead of Lake Village, AR; Alice Ross (Parnell) and Diane Creel both of Grace; brother, Jimmy Clark of Florence, and 14 grandchildren, Cassidy and Kendal Clark; Julia Clark, Josh Clark (Cadie), Jenna Nuckolls (Luke), Stevie Renfroe(Ron), Austin Renfroe (Isabel); Brandon Renfroe, Chris Chadwick (Tiffany); Trevor Spencer (Hannah), Haden Spencer, Courtney Mitchell (Chase), Anna Koehn (Shane); William Corley (Renae). And 13 great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Saturday at the funeral home.
