Graveside Services for Marsha Boland Deavenport, 72, of Greenville, Mississippi will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 1, 2024, at the Greenville Cemetery. She passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2024. Arrangements are under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville.
Marsha was born October 14, 1951, in Estill, MS. Marsha attended Stephens College and was a graduate of the University of Alabama. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Greenville and participated in various organizations over the years.
Marsha’s vibrant spirit was characterized by her love of ice cream (especially peppermint), birthday cake, the joy she took in Christmas festivities, her love of dogs, and her passionate devotion to Alabama football and all things shaded crimson red. Her sharp wit and infectious humor endeared her to all who knew her. Born in Estill, Mississippi, Marsha, though an only child, was always surrounded by a close-knit circle of friends and family. She was unconditional in her love for her children and dedicated to being the best mother.
She is preceded in death by her father William Cromwell Boland, and her mother Marilyn Hamilton Boland. Marsha is survived by her husband Samuel LeRoy Deavenport, Jr., her daughter, Marsha Dameron Deavenport of Hendersonville, NC, and her son Samuel LeRoy Deavenport III of Asheville, NC.
