Funeral services for Willie Ray Stewart, 90, of Greenville will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 8, 2024, at Boone Funeral Home, Greenville. He died on Sunday, February 4, 2024 at home. Burial will be in the Greenville Cemetery under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville.
He was born on August 20, 1933, in Shaw, MS to Clarence Marshall Stewart and Addie Lavern Cockrell Stewart. Willie served in the U.S. Air Force and after his discharge, he returned to Greenville where he was a master craftsman of sheet metal and owned and operated Mainstreet Sheet Metal until his death. In 1963 he married Georgia Roberson.
Willie was an avid softball fan and coached girls’ softball for many years. He was a Mason and was a member of Bouge Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Georgia Stewart in 2021.
He is survived by five sons, Norman Stewart (Mary), Malcolm Stewart, Ronnie Stewart (Barbara), Lonnie Stewart and Franky Muirhead (Peg); 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
There will be a visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday before the services at the funeral home.
