Funeral services for Jerry Wayne Alford, Sr, 70, of Leland will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at Emmanuel Baptist Church. There will be a visitation from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at Emmanuel Baptist Church and also a visitation one hour before the service on Wednesday at the church. Brother Rip Noble and Chris Vowell will officiate. He passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Burial will be at Odd Fellow Cemetery in Greenwood, MS under the direction of Boone Funeral Home of Leland.
Jerry was born on November 10, 1953, to JT “Red” Alford and Ruby Campbell Alford. At a very young age, Jerry married the love of his life Pam Upchurch Alford and together they ran their family business Alford’s Air Technology. Jerry was the Rheem top dealer for many years in the Delta. He was also voted Best of the Best HVAC company numerous times. Jerry was very active in his community. It’s been said repeatedly Jerry never met a stranger and made such an impact in the lives of many. He took pride in his work and helping others.
Jerry is preceded in death by his wife of 50 years Pam Alford. Parents JT “Red” Alford and Ruby Campbell Alford.
Jerry is survived by his son Jerry Alford, Jr. (Sangie) of Lake Village, daughters, Cheryl Hollis (Drewitt) of Leland and Brooke Patterson (Hosea) of Pearl. His grandchildren Haley Ray (Blake), Jessica Pearson (Chris), Cortney Phillips (Dalton), Everette Patterson, Nicole Alford, and Blake Patterson, four great-grandchildren Logan and Meredith Blake Ray and Cohen and Jackson Pearson, sisters Rita Daves (Billy) and Charlotte Carpenter (Bobby) and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Everette Patterson, Blake Patterson, Chris Pearson, Blake Ray, Dalton Phillips, and Layton Garner. Honorary pallbearers will be Cecil Carder, Gene Powell, Chad Bryant, Roy Johnson, Ken Palmer, and Mark Stokes.
