Vonda Scrivner, 92, passed from this life at home in Greenville, Mississippi on Friday, March 8, 2024. Graveside services will be held at Linn Methodist Cemetery, Shaw, Mississippi Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Marcelle Crow of Monroe, Louisiana officiating. Boone Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
Vonda was born on November 19, 1931, in Choctaw County, Mississippi to Mr. Charles Homer Ming and Mrs. Jewel Lucille Buck Ming. She is preceded in death by her parents; Husband of 62 years, Morris L Scrivner; Sisters: Ann McMinn (Willie) and Sammie Lou Ming; Sisters-in-law: Effie Baker (Burtis), Opal Mixon (Edwin), Helen “Nell” Cox (C W), Chris Banks (Oren Lee) and Faye Leamon; Brothers-in-law: Rual Scrivner (Fleda), Hal Scrivner (Mary), Buford Scrivner (Ruby) and Alfred L Scrivner (Ruth) and Great granddaughter; Ellie Gail Pickering.
She is survived by Daughters: Sandra Mascagni (Jerry) of Greenville and Gail Pickering (Steve, Sr.) of Monroe, LA; Son: Wick Scrivner of Jonesboro, LA.; Grandsons: Steve Pickering Jr.(Jeanine) of Jackson, MS, Scott Mascagni (Courtney) of Greenville MS, Brett Pickering (Becky) of Mooresville, NC, and Shawn Mascagni (Ali) of Petal, MS; Great granddaughters: Avery and Emma Pickering of Jackson, MS and Great grandson, Elliot Andrew Mascagni of Petal, MS. She loved her family.
She graduated from Weir Consolidated High School in 1949. She was a member of Second Baptist Church in Greenville and she also attended Linn Methodist Church as she was able. She was a gifted cook and her family benefited from her bounty at her table. Her loving-kindness, generosity, and compassion reflect her love and dedication to Jesus, her Lord and Savior.
