Funeral services for Lizzie Mae McDonald Baugh, 104, of Greenville will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 25, 2024, at Boone Funeral Home in Greenville. There will be a visitation from noon until service time on Saturday. She passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at her home. Burial will be in the Hollandale City Cemetery under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville.
She was born in 1920 in Thomasville, AL. Her family moved to the Delta to Darlove, MS in 1933. She graduated from Arcola Consolidated School in Arcola. In 1940 she married James (Jim) Alex Baugh, and they raised their 8 children in Darlove, MS.
She worked for Ludlow in Indianola, MS for 5 years, then Jockey Manufacturer in Belzoni for 21 years until she retired in 1982. She moved to Hollandale in 1968 and then moved to Greenville in 1999.
She is preceded in death by her husband, James Alex Baugh, mother, Hattie Horton McDonald, father, William Samuel McDonald, brothers, Neal McDonald, and Carl McDonald, sisters, Annie Clyde Hutchinson, Anna Perl McKinley, and Syble Ware, sons, Mitchell Baugh and Roger Baugh, daughter-in-law, Rhonda Baugh, granddaughter, Taya McBride and grandson, Robert Baugh.
She is survived by 4 sons, James Irvin Baugh (Marie) of Greenville, MS, William Henry Baugh (Francis) of Hollandale, MS, Danny Lewis Baugh (Mattie) of Snellville, GA and Jackie Eugene Baugh (Judy) of Paris, TX; 2 daughters, Marie Clark (Gary) of Etta, MS and Donna Baugh of Anguilla, MS; daughter-in-law, Diane Baugh of Greenwood, MS; 16 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, 20 great-great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-great grandchildren and several step-grandchildren.
