Funeral services for Betty Ann (Pinky) Pearson, 94, of Madison and formerly of Leland will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at Boone Funeral Home in Leland. The family will receive family and friends from 10:00 until service time at the funeral home. She passed away on May 23, 2024, at Highland Home in Madison, Mississippi. Burial will be in the Leland-Stoneville Cemetery. Reverend Jay Richardson will officiate.
She was born on November 25, 1929, to Melvin and Lillie Williams in Tallulah, Louisiana. Pinky moved to Leland from Tallulah when she was a small child. She graduated from Leland High School and went straight to work in Leland after graduation.
Pinky was introduced to the love of her life Guy C. Pearson by her older brother Tommy Williams. After courting Guy for a few years, they were married and were lifelong companions. They were blessed with three children, Guy, Deborah (Debbie), and Mary Ann.
Pinky worked at the Bank of Leland until she retired as a vice-president in 1990 after 39 years. Pinky also served as an officer for the Mississippi Banking Association. She was an avid reader and a member of the First Baptist Church serving as a Sunday school teacher for many years. Pinky’s other hobbies included visiting the casinos, traveling, and spending time with her family.
Pinky is survived by her children Guy C. (Mary) Pearson, daughter Mary Ann, five grandchildren, Alexandra Pearson, Matthew Pearson, John Austin Dearman, Payne Hunter (Cortney) Dearman, Rachel (Aaron) Dickerson, and three great-grandchildren, Remi Dearman, Baker Dickerson, and Mia Dearman.
She is preceded in death by her husband Guy C. Pearson, daughter Deborah (Debbie) Louise Pearson, granddaughter Victoria (Tori) Elizabeth Louise Pearson, and son-in-law Irl W. Dearman.
