Stanford Thomas “Pete” Farmer, Jr.

Funeral services for Stanford Thomas “Pete” Farmer Jr., 68, of Greenville, Mississippi will be at noon on Friday, July 19, 2024, at Boone Funeral Home in Leland.  There will be a visitation from 11:00 a.m. until service time.  He passed away peacefully on July 14, 2024, surrounded by his family at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, MS.  Burial will be in the Leland-Stoneville Cemetery.

Born on August 5, 1955, in Sunflower County, Pete was a man known for his robust dedication to his family and his passion for the outdoors.

Pete spent a fulfilling career as a Foreman at Mississippi Marine, where he worked for 25 + years before retiring in 2019. Post-retirement, he found joy in various activities, such as caring for his chickens, engaging in woodworking in his shop, and spending quiet moments in his recliner alongside his beloved dog, Kiki. A devoted hunter, Pete relished in deer and squirrel hunting, always eager for a trip to the woods.

Pete’s personal life was rich with love and laughter, shared with Mitzi Sykes Farmer, his wife and love of his life for 36 years, and their five daughters: Rachelle (Michael) Miller of Clinton, MS, Christy (Ronnie) Chamblee of Benton, Kentucky, Jennifer (Robert) Chamblee of Greenville, MS, Stephanie Farmer (Curtis Sullivan) of Leland, MS, and Jessica Farmer of Greenville, MS. His legacy also shines through his 12 grandchildren; Hunter (Gracie) Miller, Reaghan Miller, Stephanie (Braden) Jordan, Lindsey Chamblee, Addison Chamblee, Ronnie Chamblee Jr., Sarah Grace Chamblee, Scott (Katie) Chamblee, Christian (Kathleen) Chamblee, Trey Minchew, Alex Chamblee, Brianna Chamblee and 1 great granddaughter Paisley Jordan who brought immense joy and pride to his life. He is also survived by his 3 sisters, Linda (Jerome) Butts, Lynn (Emmett) Weeks, and Jean (Brent) Golden along with a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Stanford Thomas Farmer Sr. and Virginia Augusta Farmer.

Boone Funeral Home in Leland, MS, is assisting the Farmer family during this time. Services will be officiated by Pastor Pete Roncali. Pete’s life will be celebrated and remembered for the profound impact he had on those around him, leaving behind memories filled with love, perseverance, and the great outdoors.

Pallbearers will be Alex Chamblee, Christian Chamblee, Trey Minchew, Hunter Miller, Larry Golden, Thomas Weeks, Bubba Reel, Ronnie Chamblee, Jr. and Scott Chamblee.
